What inspires you to write?
I'm inspired by people that have amazing stories and want to get them written but need the help. There are incredible people that deserve to share their message. It inspires me to help them get their story written so they can share it with the world.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
I've always been a big Jane Austen fan, but Nicholas Sparks, James Patterson, John Grisham are all amazing writers I can read for days.
Tell us about your writing process.
I'm a big "outline" person. It's a much faster and more efficient way of writing for me. It's not what everyone uses, but it is a great way to organize my thoughts into a sequence that makes sense for the reader.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I don't, but rather I play out their actions in my imagination like a movie is playing and that's how I develop their personality.
What advice would you give other writers?
If you don't know how to start, get help. There are some amazing resources out there. Don't give up on your aspirations to become an author. You can do this.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Back when my first book was published, it was the entire submission process, researching publishers, agents and submission requirements until I was offered a contract. With self-publishing these days, it tends to be easier.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It's easier to publish your book today, but with that said, there are also many more people releasing book, so the focus for the future is really marketing your book effectively, so you can stand out among all other authors in your genre. The future of a successful author is marketing your book well.
What genres do you write?: Fiction & Nonfiction
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
