What inspires you to write?
I am a writer by passion. I usually write about subjects that interest me. I am very eclectic: I have many subjects of interest. I have been a music journalist for 10 years and I have written two musical biographies, but I also worked on romans, fiction and non fiction.
Tell us about your writing process.
I usually choose a calm Cafe to write on my different topics. I write all my stuff on paper before putting it on WORD. This gives me time to perfect and to re-think.
About the fictional work I have written, a lot of my characters do exist in real life, but I mask them and modify them a little bit. I also modify their names, but as an author I still recognize them.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I put myself into their skin while writing the story. I am literally feeling what I am writing.
What advice would you give other writers?
I would tell them to always believe in themselves, regardless of the critics. There will always be critics. Keep going, keep writing. One becomes a writer by writing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
As a music journalist, after 10 years of working on the Detrout hip hop scene, releasing my first book on Eminem and the Detroit scene was a logical step. After that, I published 8 more books on very different subjects. I wanted to write with my heart, about things I love and share it with my audience.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I do think that books have a future. People will always be thirsty to read and to discover other new writers.
Books are a wonderful (and cheap) way to dream and travel. Everybody needs to escape every day reality. Books allow this escape, any time.
What genres do you write?: music biographies, biographies, romans, self-development, religion, fiction and non-fiction
What formats are your books in?: eBook, Print, Both eBook and Print
