About Gary Starta:
Gary Starta is a former journalist who writes fiction on the fringe of genre, blending SCI FI with mystery/crime and paranormal romance. He also hosts a paranormal radio show on Gemjin.
What inspires you to write?
I was always inspired to record life as a journalist. Ten years ago, I took the plunge into creative writing. I feel as an alien observer would writing and experiencing humanity.
Tell us about your writing process.
I have no technical format! I purposely write on the fly, improvising with just a small amount of the chapter planned. I let my characters take the story to where it needs to go next.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I feel my character Caitlin Diggs is in my head in that I would always know how she would react to a situation.
What advice would you give other writers?
Persistence. Keep writing!
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I have small presses including Driven Press and Evolutionary Press, but also do KDP.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think it’s always changing and who knows what will be next.
