About Gail Rognan:
Gail Rognan is an author, teacher, public speaker, workshop facilitator, hospice volunteer and reiki practitioner in the Pacific Northwest. She is passionate about alternative health and how one can heal oneself.
What inspires you to write?
I was inspired to write my story about having cancer as a way to help heal myself and others and to not feel so alone in my journey.
Tell us about your writing process.
I was working full time when I started writing my book so I wrote whenever I has time- in the mornings before work and on weekends. When I left my job, I wrote at a coffee shop for a couple hours daily until it was done. I also wrote weekly at a writer’s group.
What advice would you give other writers?
Just write it down and edit it later. Let the story come put of you because it needs to be told. Be completely honest if writing a memoir.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to self-publish as everyone in my writer’s group was doing it that way. I would advise new authors to start with self-publishing.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think more people with read on their computers.
