Author Bio:
Ellie Eden thinks the next best thing to hot romance is reading or writing about it. And she finds it even better to be somewhat scared or totally petrified at the same time. That’s why she loves Romantic Suspense. She favors strong, protective alpha heroes, but finds murderous but good-looking bad guys fun too, at least on paper. And she loves to escape her family into an exotic, preferably crime-ridden, location.
In another life, Ellie Eden is the best-selling author of two travel books and a number of award-winning biographies about mostly alpha heroes.
What inspires you to write?
That sudden spark. Maybe a newspaper article about someone doing something really good or bad and you think — wow! that would make a good book! My new romantic suspense novel LETTING EVIL IN is partly based on real life. I have a close friend whose husband spent the cold NY winter in a hot chat room with a girl from Rio and then went off to Rio to meet his hot date. The Rio girl was satisfyingly quite crazy. Murderous. And I saw the funky emails. I couldn’t resist writing about it.
Tell us about your writing process.
I outline first. Its a pain and takes a lot of thought but after that, writing is easy. I like to work out the characters and its interesting when some characters take over on their own accord. In LETTING EVIL IN the drug dealing girl, sexy little Nara from the slums of Rio, took over and I loved writing about her. My editor suggested Nara be the heroine in the sequel 🙂
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I loved Tony, the hot and flawed Italian-Brazilian federal agent in LETTING EVIL IN. That guy makes me just melt 🙂
What advice would you give other writers?
Write. Dont worry about the first draft being perfect, correct and change later — just write!
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I found it faster to approach publishers directly.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I wish Barnes and Noble and similar stores would return. eBooks do give an exciting opportunity to self publish but being seen on a cloud is very time consuming.
What genres do you write?
Romantic suspense, Travel and Biographies as Ellie Crowe
What formats are your books in?
eBook, Print, Both eBook and Print
