Author Bio:
Elan Ezra (1973-now) born in Tel-Aviv, living, since 1994, in Netiv Halamed-Hei (a small village), Israel. When he was 21 years of age, he worked in a kindergarden for 2 years, and one of the things Elan used to do, is reading stories for children. When he ran out of good children’s books, he invented stories for the children. Now, when Elan has his own children he tells his children those stories, and write some new also.
What inspires you to write?
Reading good stories, as a child and a YA, had a big impact on my life. The impact was beyond daydreaming about the heroes – I wanted to create them.
Tell us about your writing process.
The main plot of my stories “pop” to my head, usually as I walk. Then, I sit, alone, in our study room, and write all I remember from my walk.
Next step – define the main character and it’s motives. If necessary, doing a research about it.
Now, the fun begin – starting to write the plot. First draft. Correcting and fixing and changing.
Reading the result after a few day, that I didn’t see it, and decide if I want to change it or not.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
