About Dr. Aashna Gill:
Dr. Aashna Gill, BDS, FAGE, MDS, is a conservative, aesthetic endodontist, working as a senior lecturer at Rayat Bahra University near Chandigarh (India). She finds her job meaningful especially when it comes to student interaction.

Dr. Aashna Gill was born in Amritsar (Punjab). She did her schooling from Sacred Heart School, Dalhousie (Himachal Pradesh). Then obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery, FAGE from Manipal University, Mangalore (Karnataka). For MDS, she moved to Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh).

She attended workshops on scientific training for rescue & relocation of snakes from India's most renowned herpetologists. Dr. Aashna Gill completed 'Animal Behavior and Welfare' certificate course from The University of Edinburgh. She has bungee-jumped from India's highest. She enjoys traveling and has solo backpacked. During her graduation, she worked as a volunteer tuition teacher at an orphanage and also went on camping treks. She has a year worth of kickboxing training.

Since she was a child, her family inculcated in her the enjoyment of reading. When she was first introduced to the hostel library, she marveled if she would ever write a book. Now she is the author of two books, the second winning an award and being an Amazon bestseller in multiple countries in less than a year from its publication date. She reads multiple books at the same time and has been known to continue a book after two years, remembering the story plot.

She started writing poetry at the age of thirteen and has won prizes for her English and Hindi writings.

To add to her writing skills, she completed certificate courses 'Thinking like a Writer' from Michigan State University and 'Writing for the Web' from Open Universities Australia. She earned certificate badge for 'Sponsored ads for KDP authors' from amazonadvertising.

This is her second book.

What inspires you to write?
I love reading. Creating worlds, letting out emotions, shaping daydreams.

What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
JK Rowling's Harry Potter Series finds it's nerdy tributes in my books. Most recently, The Great Gatsby, sent me on a writing frenzy.

Tell us about your writing process.
I use the books I am reading as writing prompts whilst out in the nature.

For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
So far, this hasn't happened to me.

What advice would you give other writers?
Persevere. Develop a thick skin.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I can make a name for myself for publishing both my books at zero-cost and teach the same.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It lies with the authors. Kindly do not price your book too low. Remember the value of what you create.

What genres do you write?: Poetry (love poems, contemporary, coming of age).

What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
