About Destiny Dawn:
There are moments when you wake up, in the dawn of the morning and there’s a lingering need and want. That’s when she writes, when the mind is hazy and more open to those taboo desires most of us never want to admit to.
Destiny Dawn is the pen name of Jessica Walsh, used specifically for her erotic works. If you’re looking for stories of not such a quite explicit nature, please visit her page.
What inspires you to write?
There’s these ideas that just stick in the back of my head, or are there when I wake up in the morning and you just need to write them. I let my muses guide my hands and turn out hot erotic tales with a little bit of fantasy and uniqueness.
Tell us about your writing process.
I tend to just wake up, sit at a computer and go. Before caffeine, before coffee, before waking up, I just write. It helps pull back the inhibitions so I can write things I wouldn’t normally consider or would think would be too taboo to write. Then, when I’m awake and coherent, that’s what the editing comes in to fine tune the story.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
As far as I’m concerned the characters write themselves. They tend to reveal themselves as I’m writing and I just go with it. The second draft and third is when I add in the little details that really make them stand out, if they haven’t done that themselves already.
What advice would you give other writers?
Just write. Worry about the marketing, the editing, the promoting and the selling later. You have to write first, because nothing else comes before that. So just go for it.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
For this I looked at trends. Erotica tends to be self published in a serial scale, so that’s the direction I’ve taken.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Books and stories will never go away. I’m sure how they’re bought and sold will change, but there will always be space for authors and readers. You just have to be flexible.
