What inspires you to write?
I was inspired to write both of my award winning books by my own story and my desire that no one ever have to go through what I went through. I went from being $200,000 in debt, a single mom making $10,000 a year to financial freedom. My books cover everything that I learned and how to make it work for you.
Tell us about your writing process.
Both books were 26 chapters with a theme. I wrote out the subjects each one would cover and then made notes of what I wanted to cover – all handwritten – I am very old school. When I was writing, it was mostly by the seat of my pants.
What advice would you give other writers?
I wrote in a way that people would feel comfortable. I tell it like it is. I choose to be authentic. My advise would be to be yourself. People will respond to that.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to self publish because I wanted control over my books and royalties. It also allows me to update as my subject matter requires occasional updating of facts.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I love that anyone can write a book. It allows for so many different perspectives and gives equal opportunity to everyone.
What genres do you write?: Non Fiction – Personal Finance
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
