About Courtney Sharpe:
Courtney Sharpe was born and raised in Birmingham, UK, on October 14th, 1983, to Jamaican parents. Growing up as the middle child in a family of six siblings, three brothers and three sisters, Courtney learned early on the value of staying grounded and level-headed. His keen sense of observation of the world around him shaped his understanding of society, which has become a central theme in his writing.
Courtney’s journey from childhood to adulthood has been filled with rich experiences that have contributed to his depth of character and consciousness. By the age of 25, he embarked on a revolutionary journey, developing a heightened sense of awareness about the struggles faced by individuals in modern society, which he often refers to as “Babylon.” His revolutionary thought process, inspired by teachings and personal experiences, flows through the pages of his writing, offering insights and guidance for those navigating life’s complexities.
Driven by a deep mission to uplift those who find it difficult to navigate through Babylon’s challenges, Courtney’s work speaks to the everyday struggler, offering wisdom, clarity, and empowerment. His writing is not just about survival but about overcoming and thriving, with a revolutionary spirit that challenges the status quo.
Courtney Sharpe continues to write with purpose and passion, aiming to inspire and bring about change, one reader at a time.
What inspires you to write?
Life itself inspires me to write, experiences and struggles I have been through and knowledge I have acquired over the years.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, Akil, Thomas Sankara
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process is very simple, straight forward and straight to the point, I don't like to waste time getting my message across, my writing process is an easy but in depth read at the same time, capturing the readers attention from start to end.
What advice would you give other writers?
To believe in their writing abilities, as a new author don't expect to sell a lot of copies of your book in the first stages of your book promotion, also don't overthink when you are in the writing process, be patient and give your book time to circulate the masses of people and one more thing, once you have finished writing your book don't be afraid to release it to the public.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I didn't know how to publish a book as this is my first book I have ever had published, I chose to go the self publish route because I want to own my own work and have full control of it as oppose to going down the traditional publishing route and giving the rights of my work to someone else.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the future of publishing is a very interesting journey especially if you are a self publisher, where you have to do all the marketing yourself, you get to see how people receive you as an first time author, I will definitely be writing a second book soon.
What genres do you write?: Self-Help
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
