About Chloe Coontz:
Born and raised in a big city of southern Italy, Chloe started reading books early in life. Inspired by the most special events she experienced and read about, as well as authors like Stephen King and B.A. Paris, she depicts people and facts with the same care of a skilled and experienced craftsman. She never fails to use her so-called "sympathetic irony" with her characters on which she expresses no judgment.
What inspires you to write?
Anything specific happened in my life and/or anything that I read about in the news and consider relevant to the plot.
Tell us about your writing process.
My plots and characters come to me while listening to my favorite music, but I make them real (with details, personalities and everything) only while writing on my computer.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I handle my characters like I would handle my pawns on the chess board. They have to do this thing and also make the audience understand why they're doing that.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to go the self-publishing route because I wanted to own everything about what I would write, from honors to burdens. To the new authors: feel free to make your own choice. Anyway, if you want to make the choice opposite to mine, always research your potential publisher before sending your manuscript.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think book publishing is a phenomenon that will never die. It will keep changing in terms of accessibility and formats, but I don't see it facing particular challenges.
What genres do you write?: Horror, Sci-Fi, contemporary
What formats are your books in?: Print
