About Carrice McKelvy:
Carrice McKelvy is an author who knows love and lust and just how to mingle the two. Her erotic stories address the sexual desire between lovers and stands it on its end. What inspires you to write?
I’m a big fan of erotic romance and was an avid fan fiction reader before I delved into writing. I’ve always had many great story ideas that I wanted to read and could never find. I decided to go for writing since it was always a goal.
Tell us about your writing process.
I outline initially and I’ve used various software for Mac for my shorter work such as Contour. On the new novella, I’m actually creating character sketches during the writing process and I’m using Persona and Storyist.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
For works previously published, I listen to the characters when writing. I’m able to write faster and be more productive.
What advice would you give other writers?
If you have a story to tell go for it! Never give up if writing and self publishing is a goal you want to achieve.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to self publish after seeing so many of the pull to publish twilight fan fiction occurred.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future of book publishing is so unpredictable. So many changes occur so often, I just hope it stays open for indie authors to self publish and have the opportunity for their work to find new audiences.
