About Bryce A Baker:
As a child, my upbringing was in the back woods of Ontario, Canada. It was coarse, and for my brothers and I,
it was also an opportunity to breathe in the breath of nature. When one plays in the forest it has a tendency
to rub off on the soul.
I was introduced to the big city as an adult, and this was a shock to my system. But the transformation was complete when my employment developed into a career in Criminal Investigation and body guarding. As children, we learned to track each other and utilize the environment around us as a map. We learned all about our prey and searched for clues. Not so very different from the city and tracking the ‘bad guys’. It was just another forest to play in.
What inspires you to write?
“Writing fictional books is like sailing through different worlds that may not be afforded us in real life. Authors command the adventure and realize the result without giving way to status quo. Putting the words to paper is scaling the impossible and immersing oneself in a dimension of imagination. It is a mind drug with incredible side effects.”

Tell us about your writing process.
I am definitely a seat of the pants kind of writer. Even I often don’t know what’s going to happen next. Generally, I will come up with an idea, give it a title, create the cover and then write it.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I am there, I become the character/s. It takes me awhile to come out of character after writing for any length of time.
What advice would you give other writers?
Don’t give up! Surround yourself with people who strongly support you. And, if possible, someone to do all of your ‘digital’ stuff so you can carry on writing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
There are pros & cons to both publishing venues, and they both require a lot of work, but we felt traditional publishing was better suited to us. Either way, always do the research.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Like you said, no one has a crystal ball. Even though the industry is radically changing, books will never go away.
