B. L. Norris is a former probation officer who prefers the horrors of the imagination to those in reality.
What inspires you to write?
I have had a wild imagination sense I can remember. Call it a gift or a curse…but my mind inches towards the dark and dark stories tend to forment in my mind. Scary once I stop to think about it. (Laughs).
Tell us about your writing process.
I always start with a general plot and all of the characters in mind. Once I have that starting point, I sit with pen and paper and let the movie play in my head.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Not really a matter of talking to them.. more of documenting their story.
What advice would you give other writers?
I would advise to be true to your voice. Don’t try to write like anyone else. Be authentic.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Well I guess I vainly believe that I have something entertaining to offer readers. I need to get it out. I need to share the things that rattle around in my head.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think that it will be dictated by the readers. They will will determine what formats they prefer, the length of books etc. The power is always with the readers.
What genres do you write?: Horror, paranormal, mystery
