About Angela McConkey:
Angela McConkey lives in a small town in Missouri with her husband and 5 kids. She has always loved reading and dabbled in writing but only became serious about it in 2013. When she’s not creating books or at a sporting or school event with her kids, Angela enjoys being creative in any way she can.
Angela signed with Snow Publishing in 2014. Her first book was released November 2014. She’s currently working on her next book and will release it as soon as she can.
What inspires you to write?
Life in general. I love the ups and downs and never knowing what is in store for you.
Tell us about your writing process.
I write about a chapter at a time and then edit it. I tend to find that sometimes what is in my head doesn’t translate well the first try on paper.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Yes. Sometimes they are very loud and they sometimes keep me up all night. I’ve been known to tell them to slow down, you’re going to fast!
What advice would you give other writers?
Don’t give up. Even if you get a bad review, don’t give up.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Funny story. I was going to self-publish and decided to send it to a publisher so I could have my required “No” letter and they loved it.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future is wide open and can only get better.
