Andrya Bailey is a romance writer who lives in Texas, USA with her family. Olympian Passion is the first book in the Olympian Love series.
What inspires you to write?
Everything about life inspires me. I think there’s always something to be written about the world in general.
Tell us about your writing process.
I can’t outline. I sit down and then I let the characters speak to me and take ownership of their own story. I started using Scrivener but every once in a while go back to word. Scrivener is a great tool to do sketches and save your research, and I do that sometimes.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen to them most of the time. I feel they’re the ones making up their own lives as I go.
What advice would you give other writers?
Keep writing and don’t forget to read. Reading is the writers’ homework.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I like the idea of having ownership of my books and self publishing works fine with me. I’d explore this option first if you don’t want to wait too long but in the meantime, submit your work to publishing houses too.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It’s looking good and there are more readers as well as authors everyday. You’ll always find something new to read.
