About Andre Michael Pietroschek:
Born in the summer of 1972, specifically on the second of July in 1972, I became a wrecked little bummer and university dropout. I miss money and comfort, but I also found some of it fits me. While limited in financial options, I occasionally share some info & viewpoints, which mainstream people might have less of a chance to learn from otherwise. I prefer short fiction, and punchlines, like: `Hey, I am a real author, I even wrote a sequel to my first Haiku!!!´ – fit my kinda humor, though aging and poverty erode some of that humor.
What inspires you to write?
I wrote the punchline: `Life is the greatest author of us all, for it inspires the very best and very worst kinda stories!´. There is truth in that, but also in Bukowski by author roots, that life among the Unwanted, the Downtrodden, the Wrecked, and the Addicts: It isn't the life we wanted, but it teaches a lot about capitalism.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Too many to list, as the terrible `I forgot´ in the proverbial equation would make me scold myself.
Stephen King sure influenced me. So did James Baldwin, who I still quote to this very day, and even Raymond Chandler and Miyamoto Musashi did.
Tell us about your writing process.
Sometimes spontaneous, sometimes after a more thorough research, or meditation and contemplation. With sales going awry repeatedly, I nowadays only write for the mere joy of doing it. The hope of rebuilding my life and making it back to university (to graduate), are mostly fading away.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
No, but I imagine them, as any fantasy roleplayer learned to do!
What advice would you give other writers?
Make sure that you can pay the bills aka ensure you can cover your expenses. Crashing into well-fare, or the social fee, will be a path of no return for all the comfy and cozy capitalist society has to offer! `Do not fear the Fall, prepare for surviving it!´
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Desperado needing money, doing, whatever it took? It is over now, but the day I did fill an entire shelf on Barnes & Noble felt, as if the mind has its own kinda orgasm.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
LOL! I publish, to be read in APPS, on phones, or on tablets. That is based on my quality targeting 8th to 11th grade school education. Can't dish elite university sermon, so I do not expect elite university income. 😉 I am proud that I did not fund a single tree-killer paperback in more than 20 years!
What genres do you write?: Horror, Fiction, Crime, Humor
