About Ananya Dubey:
I am a 17 year old author from New Delhi, India. I started writing when I was 15. My book : The Masterpiece was published recently. I write poetry and short stories as well. I am a bibliophile, a coffeeholic and I play guitar as well.
What inspires you to write?
I've always loved observing people. So when I see someone really interesting, I immediately get an urge to write.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
John Green, Paulo Coelho, Maya Angelou, Agatha Christie, Gayle Forman, Kurt Vonnegut, Amish, Ashwin Sanghi, Dan Brown, Jane Austen, Charolette Bronte, Virginia Woolf. The list goes on and on…
Tell us about your writing process.
I can get an idea to write almost anytime, so I keep a notepad handy. I keep my writing relatable by writing whatever I have experienced. It usually starts with me sitting with a cup of coffee and my diary. I never plan my stories in advance. I start with a thought or statement that crosses my mind, and then keep my thoughts flowing to weave that out into a whole tale.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen to my characters. I'm usually the omniscient narrator of my characters.
What advice would you give other writers?
Each writer has his own story. Writing is not something that can be taught, creativity comes from within. Sometimes you might feel stuck with a story inside your head with no words to bring it out on paper. But unless you etch out something…anything however insignificant, you won't be able to write
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I started with self publishing but later got selected by Ukiyoto Publishing House and got it traditionally published.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I believe that books will continue to shape generations. And book publishing shall be forever in vogue.
What genres do you write?: I write Fiction and Philosophical Fiction.
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
