About Amanda Auffant:
Amanda Auffant is a Christian from a little town in West Virginia called Hamlin. She now resides in Houston Texas with her husband and obese orange feline. When not writing, she loves playing video games, anime, and having pizza delivered to her door. She still believes in true love and enjoys long walks on the beach with her loved ones.
What inspires you to write?
Looking at everyday items inspire me to write. Watching other people interact in the world around me, and then imagining certain situations always keep my ideas flowing. I always dreamed of writing, but dreaming gets you nowhere. Get writing!
Tell us about your writing process.
I always make an outline. When I write, my mind tends to wander everywhere so having a map to go by is very helpful! I don’t do any editing till after my first draft is done.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I lay in bed every night and use my imagination to think about what they would be doing in certain parts of my story. I imagine every part of their lives at different times so I always have new material to write about. If your character doesn’t speak to you, you aren’t developing them.
What advice would you give other writers?
I learned that all those years wishing I could write were wasted.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I used createspace to get my feet wet. It’s a very simple self publishing expirence for authors new to publishing.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
No matter how easily avaliable ebooks are, nothing beats the smell and feel of an actual paperback.
What genres do you write?: Young adult fantasy, Christian theme, fiction, poetry, fantasy, magic
What formats are your books in?: Print
