AC Vazquez is a sassy, brash wife and mother of five who has captured the Florida writing scene with her tell it how it is Jersey vibes. AC has always had a love of writing, finding a home in the literary worlds of poetry, romance and erotica which she believes go hand in hand. AC uses her words to entice women to embrace and celebrate there inner vixen.
What inspires you to write?
Everything, I love to tell a story. Daydreaming is definitely a thing for me so my stories are usually born from that. I can hear a song and there's a new love story or I can be sleeping and it just pops into my mind usually playing out like a movie.
Tell us about your writing process.
It always starts as a what I call a mind movie. I can see the characters in my head and their story plays out there first. I totally admit to having notebooks everywhere. I keep them in my purse, in the car and in the house. When I get an idea it goes there before it gets polished up on my laptop.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
It really depends at times I am actually in the story as one of the characters. There are also times when I am just watching the mind movie. I will say when I am in the story as a character I have their thoughts.
What advice would you give other writers?
I guess write what you love. You're an artist speak like one, type like one and own it everyday.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to do it myself because I really didn't want to be told how to write. I also wanted books that everyone could afford. Sometimes a book can be the price of a meal for your family. Everyone needs an escape you shouldn't have to choose between that and supporting yourself.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think it's in the authors hands. I will say that some people just want to write and the best way to do it is let someone else handle everything else. The indie way was right for me but everyone is entitled to their own choice.
