What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I became engrossed in one of those motel renovation shows and decided that an old motel would make a good setting for a story. Plus, when I was a child my parents bought their first business, a roadside motel. I have an affinity for those old treasures.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My main character, Karen, wants to escape her corporate job and become her own boss. I find stories about women setting out on their own fascinating. She begins with supreme confidence, but it quickly brought down to earth.
