What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I have worked in behaviour for many years and it is something I am passionate about. I began The Adventures in Behaviour Series so that I could share my strategies with teacher, support staff, parents and most of all children in a fun, engaging way. I wanted them to laugh well recognizing the issue, having compassion for those struggling and finding supportive ideas to help them along their journey.
How to Tame Dragons and Hush Hyenas is the first Children's' book I wrote and I chose the theme of self-regulation (frustration, anger, explosive rage) first as I have spent countless hours supporting student struggling with their ability to regulate, manager their emotions and calm. This inability affects their learning and their lives outside of school. I am passionate about supporting these children and their families and staff members supporting them. This is why I also began the website – Solving Behaviour.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Jeremy was a conglomeration of many students that I have had the privilege of supporting over the years. All the characters in my stories reflect the work I have done and the students I have supported.

The day that Jeremy became extraordinary was the day that trouble tried to stay. Bad news stuck to him like bubblegum to boots. If he had a cat he would call it calamity.
