How are you going to start a business if you don’t have a business idea?
Everything starts with an idea. A business is no exception.
Every achievement begins with an idea. It could be a brand new idea for a product or a service or a new sales or marketing campaign. Or a new strategy for solving a problem or improving productivity or a simply a new idea organising your daily life.
The truth is whatever you would like to do; it always starts with an idea. A big idea or a small one, a bright idea or a dull idea, it does not matter. Only when you are working with your idea, you will fully understand its magnitude and importance.
It is also true that it is hard to achieve anything if you don’t know what you would like to achieve. And it is not possible to start a business if you have not come up with a business idea. Your business idea is the skeleton of your business. Everything else, your marketing plan, your finance etc. will fit around your business idea. So put it simply, no idea, no business.

Dream it and then do it.
You can start a business in two different ways. You can use your own head and figure out what you would like to do or you can benefit some one else’s ideas and evidently pay for the privilege. Either way you might end up fulfilling your dream of running your own business and being your own boss.
The aim of this book is to help you to come up with a business idea of your own. It might sound like a tall order if you have not been involved in business before. But if you break down your mighty goal of being a business owner to smaller steps, you will understand that there are simple steps you can learn to take and you will be able to create a business idea of your own. Just like millions of people before you. I believe that the biggest hurdle most of us face when thinking about starting a business using your own head is negative thinking. I certainly did not have any education in the area of creativity, brainstorming or any idea producing activity. Let alone in positive thinking or believing in myself. But like myself, you can learn.

Why Bother With Idea Generation and Ground Rules of Doing Idea Generation?
One of the most significant yet undervalued business skills is the ability to recognise and develop viable new business ideas for products, services and processes. The starting point for setting up a new business will vary from person to person. You may have that eureka moment, when an idea pops into your head that you know could succeed in the business world. Others know they could do well running their own business but are left scratching their heads when it comes to choosing what to produce and sell. With knowledge and skills you already have, you could start a business offering a service, or you could supply a product in which you have confidence and for which there is general demand.

I have written my ebook to help people who are facing the similar kind of hardship that I once did. I have been in a situation, which I can only describe “seemingly hopeless”. I face financial ruin and I could not find any work. I had spent my money on countless business ideas but I was not making any money of them. I have trusted other people’s business ideas and I was willing to work every hour of the day. From dusk to dawn. I was willing to do almost anything to get a legitimate business up and running.
I noticed one day something that I have not done before. I have not trusted my own ability to produce a business idea. It did not even occur to me that I could just as well as everybody else be able and capable of coming up a business idea of my own.
Sadly, I have to admit that I have let myself down by believing that I was not good enough to come up with a business idea or even multiple ideas. Deep down I believed that others were better than I was. One day I had “no others” anymore in my life, I could not buy any more other people’s products or services and try to make a living by selling them and I was unemployable to employers. I had to face myself and trust that I could be at least as good as anyone else or even better and my ideas had as much a chance to create a successful business than everybody else’s.
