Sam Autenburg is the manager of a small marina in Sydney. When a Canadian yacht arrives, sailed single-handed by a twitchy schoolteacher from Toronto, Sam knows right away that the Canadian is not a bona-fide cruiser.
A few nights later, in the early hour of the morning, Sam hears a woman calling for help. The Canadian is holding an escort on the boat against her will. Sam sorts this situation out, fruitlessly searching the woman’s bag for the cash and credit cards that the Canadian claims she had stolen.
Three days later, the Canadian is found dead in a brothel in Sydney’s red light district. He had been dipping into the cocaine that he had brought in for the infamous Reed brothers, who run some of the nightclubs, and most of the drug scene, in Sydney’s Kings Cross. The Canadian had overdosed on heavily cut cocaine. He had also been selling some of this cocaine, again heavily cut with worm powder. As a result, others died, among them Sam’s lover, Marie.
When aging escort Heather Todd rescues a stranger riding a wild self-destructive spiral, she discovers she has a chance to avenge the death of her sister, and many others. She taunts and cajoles the reluctant Sam into helping her gather evidence against the notorious Reed brothers.
When Sam agrees to join her, they embark on a daring, high-risk venture that takes them deep into the underworld, and then halfway around the world and almost home again …
Heather is a story about how people are changed by circumstance and pressure, both external and internal, and how when released from that pressure, some are able to become their true selves.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Real life events
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Many of the characters are people that I knew. I just morphed them into exactly what the story needed.
About the Author:
“WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW.” UNKNOWN
“YOU HAVE TO LIVE IT UP BEFORE YOU CAN WRITE IT DOWN.” ROBIN MOORE.
After three decades of ‘living it up’, it is now time for A.J. Sendall to write it down. Not as a dry travelogue or memoir, but as realistic novels based on real life experiences. Experiences, which still run technicolour through his mind.
Since ’79, A.J. Sendall has been collecting people and places. From the polluted dust bowls of the Sahara, to the pristine ice floes of the Antarctic, he has gathered and filed them away. Some have recently pushed through the bars of insecurity and are now at large in the pages of his first three novels. Others await their future fates.
