Arlene is a little girl who loves to make things. She begins by making presents for her doll, Maggie. As she grows up, she moves on to creating gifts for her own children and grandchildren.
This is a lovely story that is designed to help children see a different side of the elders in their lives and understand that they were once children too.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Marianne wrote this book and her sister, Karen, illustrated it as a gift for their mother for Mother’s Day several years ago.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Arlene is the name of Marianne and Karen’s mother who sadly passed away in April 2014.
About the Author:
Marianne Jones is a retired teacher, actor, and choir director from the wilds of Northwestern Ontario. Married, with two amazing daughters and two gorgeous granddaughters, she writes, blogs and celebrates life. Although not all her words are carved in stone, three of her poems are, in permanent installation at Prince Arthur’s Landing at Marina Park in Thunder Bay.
