“Free Gifts for an Open Eye,” takes us on a journey alongside Sammy. A troubled man, who has decided that life has become way too much of a burden to continue living it. We closely follow the path that led him to such despair, among which are: Lost love, the bombing of Sharm El Shiekh and the suicide of his good friend Andy. Simultaneously in the story line, we are invited to become witnesses to the five parting CD messages of hope, that Sammy has decided he would leave for his two young daughters. Messages that he hopes will bring them a better life.

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
For the first time I infused my poetry into the fable. It seemed such a a perfect match as wrote my book.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
At first I just wrote without questioning the reason why.
At that time, I must be honest here, I not so humbly thought that I was writing to bring enlightenment to others.
Then with the passing of time and as age and wisdom set in, to some level anyway, I realized that I was actually writing for myself. A subliminal attempt to warn myself of the hazards that lay ahead of me…Realizing this made me appreciate from there on in, the Potent Power of Putting a Pen to Paper.
Try saying that ten times quickly!
In time, as I gradually allowed others to read my private words and listened closely to their feedback, I realized that by sharing my writings I was also allowing others to benefit from my self-warnings. Clear but never imposing warnings, shared with loved ones and strangers alike, to let them know that they weren’t alone with their troubles and were definitely not the first or the last to go through a whole host of issues, dilemmas and addictions that had played such a huge role in my life.
The message if any…Not one of us goes through anything that thousands probably millions haven’t gone through before. We just feel we do!
Author Bio:
My name is Ashley Elgindy and I’ve been a writer all of my life…The kind that writes ideas, thoughts, poems, lyrics, movie and TV show ideas etc etc on napkins, then stores them in a little shoe box for ‘later’. I guess we’re all writers right?
Well after enjoying fair success on TV and Radio in Italy and Egypt, I finally had the time and the courage to publish my first poetry book ‘Dazed & Amazed’ in 2005. Three years later came ‘Simply Unthinkable’. And now with a loving push from my friends, my wife Elena, Amazon and Kindle, the time has come to take my first Fable/Novel off that circular production line, and expose a little more of myself…Always a scary prospect don’t you think?
What Inspired You to Write Your Book? When you have no choice but to write what’s in your heart then you must do it.
