Having a London Season is not all it’s cracked up to be, as Lady Lorelei quickly finds when attending her first ball. The lights are too hot, the corsets too tight. It’s enough to make one faint.
Thorne Gray, the earl of Kimpton, has no interest in debutantes, but what the devil is he supposed to do when one swoons at his feet? Catches her before she hits the floor, of course. An intriguing performance to be sure.
But a scheming and powerful aunt, determined to see her niece settled before her death, threatens Lorelei’s opportunity to enchant the man of her choosing.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This is a prequel to The Earl's Error and I didn't really have much in that story in regards to how Lorelei and Thorne met. And, voila, the prequel was born.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Truly? The idea came to me when Tiger Woods had an accident outside his home and some other tidbit information came to light. Then I heard on ESPN that he offered to pay his "current wife" at the time to stay with him. True story. 🙂

Kimpton could feel the perspiration gathering at his forehead and upper lip. He might be stuck at this ball, but he did not feel obligated to stand next to his mother the entire time. If memory served, Martindale usually had a card game or two in the works. “Perhaps not, Mother, but I see the music is coming to a halt—”
She grabbed his arm, ignoring him, and turned to their hostess as she approached with a debutante he failed to recognize. “Ah, Lady Martindale, who have you here?” his mother asked.
Kimpton swallowed a groan. Granted this one wore a touch of pink beneath the white issue of what he considered the debutantes’ standard uniform. He’d had no idea there were so many shades of white until he glanced across the ballroom and saw all the young misses gathered in one area. This girl, however, looked like a confection of spun sugar. Light, airy, and eyes—rolling back in her head—
Kimpton barely managed to shake off his mother and get his arm out in time to keep the girl from hitting the floor.
