I also write non-fiction. My book WOMEN WHO DARED: Trailblazing 20th Century Musicians, features Violinist Maud Powell and Trumpeter Edna White. At a time when most women stayed home to raise children, these women thrilled millions with their performances. This required enormous amounts of research, but it was worth it. Now more people know about these fabulous musicians.
My novels also require research to lend accuracy to the plot details and the settings. I consulted with an NOPD homicide detective to make sure the details about NOPD were accurate. For details about the music business, I drew on my own experiences as a professional musician. For other details, I read books, articles and magazines.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Keep writing and don’t give up. I had been writing for twenty years before my first book was published. Make your book the best it can be!

A female trumpeter friend was stalked for seven years by a demented man who would not leave her alone. The stalker in my book is very different, far more lethal, and the victim is also different, a classical flute soloist. However, the fear and pain inflicted upon her is just as real.
