Diggle is a disaster-prone dog who has the great fortune of living with Mr Bun at Fun Buns Bakery but his passion for cakes leads him into all sorts of sticky, smelly situations. In this, the first of the Diggle series, an incident with some cinnamon scones takes a very nasty turn and Diggle is nearly separated from Mr Bun forever.

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
Well, I am actually writing a book for my own age group, or at least I was when I first started putting this story down on paper. I haven’t really tried other areas yet. Hopefully my book will appeal to other children of the same age. My friends really enjoyed Diggle’s adventures and I am already thinking about a second book where Diggle has an upset with some croissants.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
If you have a good idea get it down onto paper quickly – even if it is just scribbled notes – good ideas have a habit of slipping away when you are not looking.
Author Bio:
This short story was originally created by young author Jack Penn for a school project however; Jack and his friends have so enjoyed the exploits of Diggle that there will be more adventures coming shortly. Half of all proceeds from this first book will be donated to The Dogs Trust.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was inspired to write this book after doing a school charity project for The Dogs Trust. My bedroom window happens to overlook a Bakery and this seemed like a good place to start as I am looking a delicious cakes every day. My friends and I have so enjoyed Diggle’s adventures that I am now writing the the second book in between my history and maths homework. Half of all proceeds from this book will be donated to The Dogs Trust.
