The Big One is a genetically altered coyote that has grown to immense size and strength. Pursuing him are the scientists who have made him and his bitch into what they are, a menace to anyone who crosses his path. Now, he only wants to get his family and pack to the Sierra Nevada where they can live securely. While he is away scouting a small Nevada town, Greersville, a giant sheep dog kills his mate and pups. The Big One then decides to exact revenge and succeeds in burning Greersville to the ground and killing a half dozen people before he is killed himself.

Author Bio:
I was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. Upon graduation from high school, I entered the army, and then attended Fitchburg State Teachers College. My wife and I taught in Las Vegas, Nevada for 23 years. We are now retired and live in Reno near our daughter, our son-in-law, and our grandson, Carrick. I have published three novels and two collections of whacky fairy tales.
I think more than anything, I was inspired by the genetic manipulations that are being done today, and the small isolated towns throughout the Southwest. You don’t know isolation until you’ve driven fifty miles on a dirt or gravel road and seen twenty or thirty houses and trailers grouped around a mine. It is a life of loneliness and separation and rife for disaster.
