Comments about cover design
The aliens in my story designed their ships based on animal characteristics, the spires radiating from the body are meant to make the ships look bigger than anything else, like a cobra opening its hood or a bear standing on its hind legs. The spires are painted red to signal danger.
I have a background in 3D Computer Aided Design, so I built the ships based on what I wanted for the story. My cover designer completed the rendering process and added the other elements. I wanted something that evoked old school Sci Fi covers and I think my designer nailed it.
