Chef Jackie is Jacqueline Hanna Valenti, former Massapequa resident and graduate of Berner High School, Class of 1976, now residing in West Islip with her husband and pet Pug dog ‘Chewy’.
After graduating the Culinary Academy of Long Island in Syosset New York; Chef Jackie began her ten-year professional culinary career creating delicious recipes at four-star and local high-end restaurants. Chef Jackie began re-creating the same expensive meals for her family and friends at home for a fraction of the cost. ‘Cooking Kept Me Sane’ has been designed so even the most inexperienced cooks will be able to make a delicious meal for their families, while staying well within their budget.”

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?At the age of 43, having been downsized from my sales position after 25 years of working, I had a decision to make. After much debate and serious reflection, I decided to go back to school, culinary school. I trained to become a professional chef and then went on with further schooling to specialize in baking and pastry arts.
