Julie is a seemingly normal middle-aged woman who married the man of her dreams, or so she thinks. She had a very difficult childhood being the youngest daughter of a divorced couple. Her mother is an alcoholic, and her father resents her due to questions surrounding her paternity. Julie’s upbringing left her unsure of how to differentiate between love, sex, and power. Her story is told through a series of therapy sessions. The reader learns of her abusive past and its effect on the present day.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I have written for as long as I can remember. It is a place where I go to find answers to questions I didn't even know I had. I started this project over ten years ago. It was my mid-life crisis, so to speak.
At my daughter's urging, I took it out of hiding last year and began revamping, re-editing, and honing it. When insecurities hit, I sent the manuscript to several women who begged me to publish it, citing it is a story that needs to be told. The sequel, Daddy's Girl, is currently in the works.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
There are many human experiences the general population keeps buried under a shroud of secrecy, but those are the very topics that need exploration; they need a voice.

Julie's lifelong search for love and acceptance has led her on a journey of self-destruction. What started as a little girl's dream to live behind a picket fence has become the beginning of her undoing.
