Historical fiction writing requires lots of research but it is fun because you learn a lot.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Keep writing and don’t give up. Get in a critique group of serious writers and learn to polish your work. No one can see their own writing weaknesses no matter how well they writer and such groups will help take you to the next level.

I was invited by one of the writers working on a proposal for the book to join up with them and write a historical romance. I had been considering writing a Christian romance and I thought this was a great opportunity to try my hand at longer fiction. (I had only written short stories prior to this.) Each writer had to set their story in a major city at the turn of the century so I chose San Francisco, having lived in the Bay area.
