Life is hard for alcoholic-in-denial Mara Shaw. One bad relationship after another has left her a single mother with no faith in anything. She is unable to trust in anyone . . . including herself. After a humiliating suicide attempt, she decides to start afresh, and never allow herself to be hurt again.
Graydon Davidson walks into her life and begins to show her the truth. While the truth is hard to accept, it is also the key to her freedom. Is this gorgeous and compassionate stranger the answer to all her dreams? Or will ghosts from her past which emerge to haunt her take over? Mara is faced with a choice that will change her life forever.
The surprise ending will knock your socks off! “As Is” will leave you thinking about life, love, faith, forgiveness and redemption for weeks to come.

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
HA! That is a GREAT question! Technically I write in the Christian Fiction genre, however… I use language and strong content that is traditionally not used in Christian Fiction. My husband teases me about needing my own genre. I write about the real stuff of life and how we can be flawed human beings and still be loved by God in an incredible way. I believe whole heartily that God wants us to have consistent behavior… meaning He does not want us to segment our lives… behaving differently at church than we do at work or anywhere else. I have caught a lot of heat over my writing… but I’m not changing it! I’m going to keep doing it just the same because it’s real life and I feel it is what God wants from me!
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Never give up!!! Keep reading and trying to improve your skills. Don’t take no for an answer. Look for someone to mentor you and again… never give up!
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wrote “As Is” as a healing process for myself. I myself am a recovering alcoholic, sober 7 years now. I wanted to write something that would not only help me deal with some deep issues, but also perhaps help others. I am extremely proud of this book and want more than anything to share it with people it can impact. My goal was to change one life… and I am humbled to say I have achieved my goal. I am well pleased with what God did through me. My reviews on Amazon say it all!!!
