Donna is such a victim. When she is brutally raped, her life comes crashing down, bringing with it memories of an unhappy childhood. I think my subject matter is difficult and a little controversial but it brings home the message that rape cannot be tolerated, and that the men should be brought to justice and given stiff sentences, especially since such a small number of people who have raped a woman are ever convicted of the crime.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Never give up if you believe in your book, and realize how difficult it is to become a success. However there are more opportunities out there than there have ever been, and if you persevere you might just make it. But it’s damned hard work, you take many knocks along the way, and don’t believe it’s ever easy.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?I’ve always tried to imagine how it feels to be raped. The disgust, feelings of worthlessness, the anger at being violated against your will, and how those few awful minutes can change lives, and never be forgotten. That was the basis for the book, about how a young beautiful woman reacts and struggles to come to terms with this despicable act. I’ve tried to tell the story in a sensitive and sympathetic way, but also I’ve added other elements such as a love interest, and a whodunit theme, as the protagonist realizes the man who raped her may be closer to home than she ever dreamed possible.
