How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
Books about Life and Love are usually fictional, but have a great deal of real life in them, too. I have the freedom to dream about Love, and show it in real life scenarios. I draw from my own experience, hopes and dreams; and apply them to everyday life. There are no boundaries on the inspiration and the ideas that can be used to lift up those who are seeking beauty in life.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Write what you feel and what you are passionate about. Get input from others. It is frightening to do, but is usually not as painful as you anticipate it will be. Further, the affirmation you get from others is well worth the risk! Find your target audience and don’t worry if people who are outside your target audience don’t provide strokes. Above all, find a good editor! Mistakes undermine your professionalism.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I have always been a writer. “Against All Odds” was my first attempt at a real novel. I have since written ten finished novels and have a few in progress. I wrote this book in part, as a way to examine and overcome my own stumbling blocks; and to offer hope and encouragement to other women seeking to find a way beyond life’s struggles. I love “Love”, and I also use this outlet to describe my love for my husband. He is in a little bit of every positive male character in my stories.
