What inspires you to write?
Primary the things I learn during research that I feel compelled to share with others.
Tell us about your writing process.
I do extensive research and the story seems to form in my head as I go. Once it begins spilling out, I write it down and begin editing and rearranging until I am satisfied with the result. My characters are individuals whom I can follow around just writing down what they do.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters become my friends and I often go back later to write complete stories about incidental characters I meet along the way in my longer novels. I need to know what becomes of them.
What advice would you give other writers?
Stay with topics you have a real love for and research, research, research.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
It is my firm belief that self-publishing is the future of writing. It will continue to outpace traditional publishing over the next several years.
