In this busy, work-a-day world, it’s easy to get grounded—to deny the creative spirit given to us by the One who created us in His soaring image. Through Passion & Praise, Lou Mulford Greig casts aside the shackles that bind and bids the reader to join her in exploring the heights and the depths of God’s passionate love.
Take time to nurture that little bird inside you, that all too often earthbound artist aching to find expression. Pull up a cozy chair and a nice cup of tea. Drink in the ardor of this Christian author’s soul and find inspiration for your own along the way.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was journaling the praise portion of my devotional time and more poetic language began to come to me. I was inspired to write a “new song” to God. I began expanding on the poetry writing on my computer as well. The 1st official poem for the book was “My Beloved”. The television was on while I worked at my desk. The 1999 school shooting at Columbine interrupted the programming as I watched in horror. I had never heard of a “school shooting” before. Devastated I began to weep for the children and families. The poem poured out of my grief.
I had been telling my husband constantly that I wanted to perfect my poems and write a book of prose to share my passion and heart for Christ. His advice was, just do it… start writing. Columbine was the impetus, and the following pieces written over the next year, with four new poems added in 2014, became my intimate public expression of love.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38,39 (NIV)
My Beloved
The tempest strikes and I am not removed.
Demons howl their sirens cry
hurling fetid accusations.
I will not be accursed.
Your love retaliates the onslaught.
My basest nature seeks sport in me.
The hunt is on with a thrust.
I am both fox and hound in fortune’s chase
misdirected in my circular path.
With love, you wait to guide me forward.
Reflections of our world seek their target
disseminating wearisome truths
of a time gone mad.
Satellites project the muck and mire
in a multitude derisively driven home
to rest. and fester. Are you there?
Perpetually.
Immanent Father you watch and grieve
with your defiant children, with me.
Permanence your synonym in the face of our riot.
Your love embraces all tantrums of despair
and cushions my heart as I seek you.
Death would consume and taunt me
if it had it’s way.
Nihilism reigns only where invited,
and the knell is reserved for those who choose.
Praise heaven I am owned by the giver of life
never to be blackened by the reaper’s hand.
The love of my Beloved carries me forever.
