Nature inspires, frightens, and amazes on a daily basis. The poems in this collection all have something to do with nature – being in it, watching it, the passing of seasons. Whether it is a beautiful winter day (or any of the other seasons) or a patch of wilderness amongst the perfectly tended civilized yards, these poems express the affect that moment in nature had on me.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
These poems were gathered after years of writing. Inspiration came from a sun rising as I drove to work or from the tearing down of a grandmother tree.

I’m old, older than the ages
Formed from fire, earth, water and air
I lay waiting and growing
Listening and learning
The wisdom stored within her
Gaze upon me and see the beauty
It is how I draw you in
Look deeper into my layers
See the flaws and crystals
See the beauty and cracks
Feel the hardness of my shell
And know the fragility of my core
I draw you in with my looks
But I offer so much more
Still your mind and soul
Listen with your heart
To hear my tales of old
Fall within my crystal core
And learn what the mother
Taught me through those ages
See the shades of black and white
But there are all the hues and tones
Betwixt and between
My beauty draws you nearer
So I my impart the wisdom
To those who are willing to listen.
