About Victor Korda:
I consider myself a book salesman at the moment but, long before that, I was first a reader. Writing kind of happened by accident, when I came across a draft of an old letter my highly motivated teenage self, had written to a penpal. I was surprised. Before then, I'd thought that I was a poor storyteller. I wasn't, but I was bad editor. I still am.
Fortunately I've discovered how to use my ears, anytime my eyes failed me. Here I am on Amazon, with the opportunity to tell one great story.
I hope you read it.
What inspires you to write?
Most of us can relate to one story or the other. Then it gets to a point where one feels he can actually relate to the author in some way. After that you just try to keep up and see where that takes you.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
John Grisham
James Clavell
J.R.R. Tolkien
Shanda Rhimes
Tell us about your writing process.
I first tried to be earnest in my writing and that was rewarding. Then I tried humor which was fun. After that I tried an autobiography and that became a nightmare.
Now I just write whatever I'd like to read.
I hope to increase the depth of my characters in the near future, but I have no interest in AI for that or any other content.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I kind of remember, then I listen.
What advice would you give other writers?
Listen to those I have just listed.
John Grisham
James Clavell
J.R.R. Tolkien
Shanda Rhimes
How did you decide how to publish your books?
That largely depends on what reliable resources I have available to me at the moment. There are many ways to make and how do you know which one will be yours?
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It's the same as the future of everything else. I can't say for sure about tomorrow, and definitely not next year.
I'm grateful for today.
