What inspires you to write?
When I learn something new I want to share it with other people. In my first book i wanted to help women understand their many options for dealing with menopause symptoms. Now I am sharing a wider range of midlife information.
Tell us about your writing process.
I create a mind map for my books. It starts with the main topics which will become the book chapters and then I add the subjects within those topics. I draw it and develop it on a piece of A4 and keep it by me when I am writing.
What advice would you give other writers?
Do it! Develop your outline and then every day add at least one piece of content to it. Keep moving forward.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
My first book was published as part of a book coaching programme. I realised how simple it was to self-publish and I have never looked back. There are so many options to self-publish. It is simple and you retain control of your book.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think we will see even more self-publishing as so many books are bought online now. It is good to have a physical book as well as an e-book. There is nothing like holding a book in your hand and flicking through the pages.
