Sometimes one look is all it takes.
Thrilled to be visiting her brother in Kona for the birth of his next child, Madeleine Harper and her parents are all set for a quiet family reunion in paradise. That is if Maddie weren’t distracted by the naval officer she keeps—literally—bumping into.
Retired Captain Daniel O’Neil is looking forward to two weeks in the sunny Hawaiian Islands to connect with the daughter he barely knows. Except his plans didn’t include a beautiful stranger he can’t forget.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Part of the Aloha series
I was very excited to bring Nick’s sister Maddie and their parents to the island for the birth of Nick and Kara’s son. But I absolutely fell in love with Dan O’Neil. I do so love an officer and a gentleman. It was also a special treat for me to revisit Pearl Harbor and the Arizona memorial. I will note, though it did not happen to me, the story of the foreign tourists was true. I always love playing with the friends and family at the Big Island dive shop and I hope you’ll have fun with this little story too!
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
These characters started out as secondary characters in another Aloha series book.
About the Author:
Chris Keniston’s love of a good story and frustration with the end of a well known author’s romance best seller, drove her to pen her own works of romance and fiction.
Her romantic women’s fiction novels include a variety of themes from international settings dealing with wealthy millionaires, family feuds and tropical beaches, to the relationships between family and friends in small town Texas, and to sisterhood and friendship in the award winning novel The Champagne Sisterhood
Currently working on the contemporary romance Aloha Series, Chris Keniston is enjoying playing with her former military heroes. Using popular themes of small towns and sandy beaches blended with stories of the single dad, survivors guilt, an accidental wedding and more is making the Aloha Series a reader’s choice.
A native New Yorker, Chris Keniston was on her way to Australia when she fell in love with North Texas. Little did she know the balmy seventy degree October days would turn into fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat in August!
Author of seven contemporary novels, including a finalist for the prestigious Golden Heart Award, Chris lives in suburban Dallas with her husband, two human children, and two canine children. Though she loves her puppies equally, she admits being especially attached to her German Shepherd rescue named Gunny. After all, even dogs deserve a happily ever after.
