The venue was eccentric and strange to say the least but money could buy these standout items most people never got near.
A great time was had by all and Adam barely remembered who he was by the time he passed out.
How he would come to wish he had never gone as he emerged from the post-party delirium into a nightmare encounter with the Demon Deity –
‘Re-Henne’.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Originally written in 1998, this story was one of numerous works by members of a team that came together to create an on-line horror magazine we aimed to call – ShockCinema. We knew of nothing like it at the time and had high hopes for the venture. It would have comprised, Fiction, Crypto Zoology items, comic strips, illustrations, short films and reviews. However, as a result of inexperience and growing dissent within the group about a multitude of issues it sadly never got off the ground.
Rather than leaving it idling in a folder i thought it appropriate that it go onto a website whose aims and interests seemed similar to those of the venture for which it was originally written.
It debuted on the horror literature site – 'ficofthedead' in June 2006. It’s popularity and success proved that we were on the right lines back in the 90’s and all credit to those guys for making it happen.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
When creating Adam Kyle I wanted to have someone from a college or post school age whose enthusiasm, curiosity and inexperience could be used against him. The young adult is more vulnerable than they realise and they are surrounded by 'temptation' which often seems enticing and dangerous. This 'thrill' element can lead to experimenting. Nothing amiss here you may think but when it comes to the wrong kinds of people, activities and situations problems can arise taking the individual out on a limb. Kyle was a casual 'recreational drug' user and was unaware of some of the malign elements in the world. At the party he pushed the boat out further than before and unwittingly becomes possessed or influenced by dangerous forces. I wanted Kyle's character to highlight what I thought were two important aspects. The first is 'losing control' and what that can be like. The second is 'consequences of losing control' – where you don't know what's happening and whether what you're experiencing is 'real'. Kyle's uncertainty about what's happening when he 'comes to' and his subsequent terror serves as a warning to those travelling the same road. His eagerness to give up control and 'have fun' may have cost him more than he'd have liked.

Grand cacophony yielded to the still quiet of early morning. Food and beverage still weighed heavy in Adam Kyle’s stomach as he slept. No fowl had burst into song and a strange and disquieting air had settled over the room. When Adam awoke a feint smell of burning faded quickly. He could not see clearly yet and the general yellow of the décor was indistinct. His eyes soon focused and the large hole some wag had chiselled into the wall in front of him became apparent. At the same time his focus returned and the hairs all over his body became charged by electricity with the ensuing prickles becoming uncomfortable. Within this sensation emerged the searing pains from his right thigh and calf. Dark blood covered the floor, sealing record covers to the carpet pile. With his blankets stripped away the large bite marks on his leg were disturbingly apparent. Adam examined them closely, trembling with increasing intensity. The teeth marks were deep and clear. The flesh all around was red and swollen. Although he had not lost a great deal of blood what he had shed appeared plentiful. Something within the two largest bites took his eye keenly. Lesser marks seemed to indicate gnawing. He had been tattooed somehow but wasn’t sure if the biting and tattooing were connected.
