About Srijit Chakraborty:
Hello readers I am Srijit Chakraborty. I am a teen writer and speaker. I wrote my first poem at the age of seven and since then I had been continuing my passion for writing. "What food is to stomach writing is to my soul." Apart from being a writer I am also a karate black belt.
What inspires you to write?
Whenever I talk to people I discover that most of them have some untold stories which carry a lot of emotions. This untold emotions are what which inspire me to write.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
My favourite authors are Robert Frost, Ruskin Bond and khalil Gibran.
Tell us about your writing process.
Whenever I plan to write a story on something I am an outliner writer I do a lot of homework regarding the characters and the incidents in the story. My sketch notebook is all what I use for my outline.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Ya whenever I write fiction stories I talk to the characters. I imagine what would the character look like how would it speak and then I also ask my characters questions and when I am satisfied making all their answers of those questions I write it.
What advice would you give other writers?
If you feel you have passion and love for writing continue your work one day you will surely achieve success. Learn to accept criticism and try to imply your readers advices in your content and last thing I would like to add is never write for the sake earning write because you love it and to entertain your readers.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
My main priority has always been writing not its publishing my friends and teachers praised my writings and advised me to go for a publishing. But it not exactly when I decided to publish. I decided it when I started getting offers from publishers.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
According to me book publishing has bright future more people being involved in it people will be more interested to see themselves represented in a book. And in the future audio books craze will also increase.
