About S.L. Fon:
A former accountant, S.L. loves to read. After years of churning ideas in her head, S.L. finally wrote the thoughts down in a series of novels. When the author is not in front of the laptop writing, she's likely watching a crime show on TV. The author lives in the Mid-West of the U.S.
What inspires you to write?
Writing has always been a passion. However, life has a way of changing your path. So, after years of putting it on the back burner, I've decided to write again.
Tell us about your writing process.
I'm kind of in the middle. I would outline just to make sure the story is logical. Then, when I write, I may take a detour here and there. I find Scrivener very useful in outlining a novel.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I run a scene in my head all the time. Like I'm directing a movie. I'd watch how the characters would answer and react.
What advice would you give other writers?
I'm really still learning. So, I'd only say to keep writing and not to give up.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I felt that publishing on Amazon was the easiest first step for me. While I'm still building my platform, I think sticking to one distributor is a good option for me.
I haven't considered traditional publishing.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I believe the future will be going toward digital and audio. Of course, certain books will always be in paper format. But for most commercial fiction, I think it'll lean more and more toward ebooks.
What genres do you write?: Suspense
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
