Link The Author (Charles J. Clark Jr. )is a Career law enforcement agent turned author from Cleveland, Ohio. As a former Special Agent, Link has taken true events from his assignments and written them in his book. Links first book (MY BROTHER’S SHIELD) released 06/16/2020 represents these true events in a riveting-action packed story as an undercover agent. Outside law enforcement and writing books, Link spends his time providing community service as a member of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Link is a true believer of giving back and supporting programs of the community. He stands by the motto: Lift as we climb, because it takes a village to support a community.
What inspires you to write?
My career as an undercover agent and former police officer.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Tom Clancy and Dick Wolfe
Tell us about your writing process.
I have no specific writing process. Just reflected stories from my career, which is told by my inner-voice and written onto paper. I use chapter headings and let my mind create the story from there. My book is not only structured by chapters, but each chapter has a title. I would edit after each chapter. Sometimes after each four pages. Each chapter has a true event.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Due to each chapter has a true event, I relive that event and went from there. I do talk to my characters to develope the concept of my story.
What advice would you give other writers?
Make sure to have a great editor
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I conferred with several publisher's before deciding with Trient Press (former Dove & Dragon)
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The creation of several platforms have lengthen the life span of publishing companies. Many companies are becoming multi-servicing to its clients.
