What inspires you to write?
I enjoy the freedom that comes with creativity. What inspired me to write is the joy I feel when I am creating. Bringing my thoughts and dreams to life on the page is a feeling like no other.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Chevy Stevens. Her writing is phenomenal and her novel Still Missing was intense and a great read. I also absolutely love Kristin Cashore, author of the Graceling series.
Tell us about your writing process.
I start off with as characters name and a faint pulse of an idea. From there, well, I just create. I allow the story to create itself as the words flow from my finger tips and onto the page. I use Google Drive on my cell phone to write my books!
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I do not!
What advice would you give other writers?
Just keep writing. Create freely and with love. Don't get hung up on publications and perfectionism.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I started with self publishing when I was young. It is a difficult thing to do when you're new around the block. I am hoping that now that I have traditional publishers working with me, the publishing process will be smoother and less stressful.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I don't really know what to think! I hope the world continues to celebrate creativity.
What genres do you write?: Poetry, fantasy, young adult.
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
