What inspired you to write your memoir?
I have always been a writer, but never had anything to say. After going through a difficult life transition, it became clear that I was finally ready to write. The blessing of that challenging time was that it helped me to bloom as a writer.
About your Book:
After losing her center, her marriage, and her future in one stroke, Gwen Van Velsor set off to find a new path. She traveled across the United States before finding her way to the Camino de Santiago, a journey that would redefine her life. Her story is a reflection on love, faith and the food that got her here from there.
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I started my own publishing company called Yellow Arrow Publishing, so in a way this book is self-published. After getting to know a successful self-published author in Colorado, I was convinced that getting my book out into the world sooner rather than later was the way to go.
How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?
For me, memoir is how I approach the craft in the absolute most honest way possible. Honesty in art is a must.
