The love ship sailed long ago for Daphne Pepper…
Feisty native of Sand Crest Island, Daphne has everything she needs… or so she thought. Until she meets handsome Remy Rosetto who is on a mission to complete his grandfather’s request in order to earn his inheritance.
Remy hires Daphne to be his tour guide for an unheard of amount of money and she is more than happy to take his cash then send him away. Which is fine with Remy, who wants to get back to his penthouse in New York.
Daphne loves her island and will not even think of leaving her family and friends, but as Remy falls for this island beauty he has other plans.
Can they both find more than they ever wanted or are they too stubborn to compromise?

Standing on tiptoe, she reached as high as she could to stick the suction cups to the store window. She grabbed the other sign that read, Best selection, and hung it beside the other. As she pushed the cart over, she felt a breeze when the door whooshed open beside her.
“Hmm, get fresh and best selection,” a smooth, deep voice said to her right. “Careful, a guy might take that the wrong way with you standing next to those signs.”
Daphne turned to give him a piece of her mind, but instead her mouth dropped open at the sight of the most breathtaking man she’d never seen. Around six-foot and dressed in a suit that looked like it had cost a small fortune. His sexy brown hair was styled messily, as if someone had just tousled it. His eyes reminded her of big brown M&M’s that made her want to melt. She ignored her elevated heart rate and remembered her mouth was still hanging open, so she snapped it shut.
He laughed. “Sorry, I couldn’t resist.”
Daphne pressed her lips together. “Mmm. I knew those signs would get comments the moment I hung them.”
He stepped closer. “So why did you hang them, Daphne?”
She could smell his cologne, the scent somewhere between spice cake and heaven. “You know my name?” was all she could manage.
He pointed at her name tag. For a split second, she’d thought he was going to touch her. She had to get it together.
“Oh.” She swallowed. “Can I help you find something?”
“I hope so. I’m staying at Rest Inn. Their coffee is… undesirable.” He grinned, making her feel as they were the only two people in the grocery. “Can you lead me to your best coffee?”
Daphne gave him her most seductive look and was immediately embarrassed by her behavior. “Follow me.” She tried not to sway her hips, but it was like they had a mind of their own. He stayed close enough behind her that she could still smell his yummy, spicy scent. She glanced over her shoulder. “I’ve never seen you on Sand Crest before.”
